In the next 5 years most analysts agree that revenues from Cloud Computing software delivered as a service will see annual growth rates up to 30%Â accounting for up to 15% of total IT spend by 2013.
The key initial areas for growth will be around collaboration solutions linking office-based staff with mobile staff  (this is the investment in Cloud Computing being made by the Royal Mail) enabled by the latest advances in Smart Phone technology (eg Microsoft Sharepoint, Huddle and Google Apps); eCommerce industry portals linking suppliers (eg. Pharmaceuticals, car parts, freight forwarding); data backup and archiving and affordable, fully featured business applications for small businesses.Â
This will be followed by core business applications for Enterprise businesses once industry standards have been agreed and the perceived security issues have been resolved. While we have heard a lot about Public Cloud services like Amazon and Google Apps to date, in the future large Enterprises will be deploying their own Private Clouds or Hybrid Clouds combining the Private Clouds with the best services from the Public Cloud providers. Meanwhile governments will be deploying their highly secure “G-Clouds”.
Cloud Vision will be keeping its members updated on all the lastest Cloud Computing News and will be hosting webinars on the many aspects of Cloud services.
